The concert and gathering

The chocolate cupcakes! They look nice don't they?
Pearleen and Rebecca : Victims of my candid shots!
Me and kc smiling again!

Today was quite boring, interesting, fun and torture. Hehe....lets talk about boring and torture first.

Just because of a concert that we had to attend, we had to suffer the pain of getting up early in the morning for the last time that week. We were scolded again for the flag-raising. For being late, noisy and irritating. The concert was boring, stuffy and cramped (everyone had to make use of the space in the hall) Everyone had to endure a particularly off-tune singing session, a long silence of prolouge before they start the announcements and the heat in the hall itself (it's air-conditioned). Oh well. It should be ok since we have no lessons! Met up with deepa, angela and pearleen to go sps. It was pretty interesting I suppose, all the get together talks and knowing that pearleen was the highest for literature (ryan's going to be so depressed)....

Saw that kc and brendan were already there. They had school too. They must have ended early. Subsequently, we formed a mini party within ourselves and endured Mdm Toh's droning altogether. Bought lunch and drinks in the canteen (I love cheap food) .Visited Mrs Tan in the 5A classroom and I found myself subconsciously in a primary 1 classroom (I saw too many midgets).....Gave Mrs Tan a box of chocolates and she wanted us to introduce ourselves in front of the class. Also found out that they were about to have spelling when we arrived -_-"....and our party grew bigger when the RGS girls joined us......but it was only shortlived as we parted on our ways 10 mins later. Took a photo with kc before I went home....

I really dun care why you are there to defame, criticise and frame me with deeds I'd never done. You are so obvious.....even I know who you are and for a guy, you are so damn petty lol. So what if I dun like the class? Is it your problem? Who would have believed that you would use such underhand means like criticising me in my own tagboard without using your name. You are meant to be despised and you know it yourself.

I shan't waste my time argueing withn you any longer ; it's just a waste of my time.

Today's rather interesting.....at least cooking and buying teacher's day presents were.

We had to make chocolate cupcakes today! Oh well, it was rather tiring and tedious but just downright fun. Didn't manage to get 9/10 for the cupcakes but 8/10 should be good enough! The cupcakes were delicious. Traded some of mine with ryan.

So the rest of the day was boring until CME came and we got back our results slip. jinhu's CA2 results:

English : B3 (69)
Higher Chinese : C5 (55)
Mathematics : C5 (59)
Science : A1 (77)
Geography: A1 (78)
History : A1 (91)
Literature : A1 (76)
Home Economics : A1 (83)
Visual Arts : A1 (78)

So that's my performance for the CA2 results and apparently, my mum only finds it worth to harp on the Cs and not the As. Oh well, time to preapare for SA2.

Went with janelle, siew khoon, siew mun, johanna, ming zhen, ryan, jerome and wei le to J8 to buy prezzies for the teachers. We sort of lingered only at level 4 of the entire building to buy prezzies. They weren't cheap but since so many of us were sharing (10 to be exact, including dimeng) we could spent $50++ on teacher's presents.(I never got to spend so much on teacher's day presents) Sat at Mcdonalds for about 30mins to settle all the debts and they were eventually settled. By the way, me and jerome took off our badges so we can be mistaken for R.I boys! (no offence!) Also went to the nearest playground to play with the merry-go-round! So fun! but it was just a heavy price to pay......got so giddy later that we can't even think straight.....

PS: You can use my CA2 marks to make fun of me. I dun care.

The filth of 1/2....

"1/2 is the noisiest class ifrom 1/1 to 1/7"

"Do you know that your class is among the last in studies?"

Why does 1/2 have such an ill repute among the teachers and other classes? Why do you seem to be the last in everything? Who caused this? There are names of course but I shan't say them of course, lest some people get me implicated. There is also the problem with our bonding. It's rubbish! Out there in the world, I also believe that there are people who exist as the parasites and destoyers of mankind. There is the love-obsessed freak, who pines for her 'love' everyday w/o fail. The absolute retard who has no sensory organs and who shouldn't be in anderson at all. The bunch of sour grapes who always throws a tantrum upon losing a game. The ever-kiasu being who strives to be the top in everything and will not tolerate being exploited. The Mt Merapi who not only fires tempers but punches as well. The emotional attention-seeker and will attempt suicide just for a little attention. Last but not least, yours truly, your favourite defamer.

PS: You can choose to hate me or repent after reading this post. It's your choice.

...and another day passes...

Calenders flip.
Aging takes over.
Our existence shortens.
Time runs out.
The end is near.

The deed been done
and will not be undone.
The regrets left will be,
the remnants of your careless being.

Procrastinate for all I care.
Complain as much as you want.
But don't come running back to me
with all your regrets and complains.

1 Jan 2007
"Looks like it's going to be a new year ahead. I think I better work hard. It's still best to do well in your exams. I'm going to promise myself that I'll finish a revision exercise everyday!"

But as time passes and the workload builds up. The tempers frayed and the mind just clueless. Temptation triumphs Determination. The new year follows with a new approach....

1 Jan 2008
"Forget it.....It doesn't pay. There's no use working hard. It's easier to let go. Stop grabbing on fallen hope. I just want to pass...."

My thoughts of the regrets of time.

A 'learning journey' to Tea chapter....

The signboard which looks pretty traditional
The plate of mooncakes
The tray of tea equipment used to make our WuLong tea.
The many people in the top floor of the tea chapter
The mini tower of chinese tea

Hope you like my post on losing out! Anyway tuesday wasn't extraordinary, other than a visit to the tea chapter (somewhere in chinatown). Let's start with the very first period of a very balanced day.

Literature: Mrs Goh kept droning on about Dawan and Kwai in Sing to the Dawn. We still coudn't get back our test papers until next week (I have no wish to get them back). And as usual, it's boring.

HMT: I'm still considering whether I should drop HMT next year, given my pathethic results that would shock my mum. But for the mean time, I had to stand in front of the class and tell the story on the boy that would commit suicide because of his parents. You had to memorise it but I didn't so I sort of went very well....since I didn't memorise it.....

Science: Got back our practical results today. 9.5/15.....what do you think? Anyway, about half the class failed and the highest is 11.5/15.So add this and add that and I get an A1!!! Yay for me! But it's only 77.....need to work hard!

Maths: Assesed the results of the comic life projects of some classmates and they didn't score very well....sad to say.....

English: Got back my results for the grammar test and I JUST passed it!!! 10.5/20! I must be mad......and the highest is 16 (jerome!!!) Need to work hard and cross fingers for comprehension!!!
Wedenesday: Mrs Goh didn't come (I really believe that she has an appointment somewhere else every wednesday). Rusell Lee also came and gave a talk.....and 1/2 was extra responsive. With wenjie's i-dun-give-a-damn attitude and nicholas's bouncing about and 'happy little bird'.....well, it was all pretty interesting and reputation-draining (there's already no reputation to drain for our class)
Today: History was BORING.....I used to be a history fanatic but after Ms Lim's droning, I think I'll content being less enthu.....PE was fun. Played captain's ball. We had science after recess and it was a FIASCO!!! We got such a shameful telling-off by Mrs Dan that was kicked start by the audrey-glenn incident (audreay pulled away glenn's chair when he was about to sit down) but nobody blamed her. It was already our fault that Mrs Dan had such nasty comments about us , it could have happened anytime. The whole class was sore when they got out of the Mac Lab. Some even complained about Mrs Dan....PURLEASE.....isn't it your fault that this had to happen? Got back our english marks today and you can be sure that I was going to explode anytime soon.....69.***********!!!!!! Whay can't all the decimal digits be a 0.5?! I would have gotten an A2 and not lost to aleithia by a mark!!! Haix.....jerome can be sure that there wouldn't be tears before bedtime though.....
The rest of the day was pretty calm and I still haven't finish my maths and chinese homework! Argh!!!
PS: I dun mind losing to aleithia....just starting to hate the number 69.....

Losing out....

I'm damn lame and bored so I just decided to type out my thoughts on one of the issues that interests me : Losing out. (as you know, these posts are extremely lame and the people I used here are just EXAMPLES. So prepare a cup of coffee or just close this window)

I look at daryn, wei le and ryan.....3 of the 'formidable' boys in 1/2 and I wonder......what's the trait they have in common? What's the force that makes them so annoying and irritating at times? And I realised, it is the fear of losing out. Like duh! That's so obvious. You can ask anyone and the frank answer would be yes, they are afraid of losing out.

Why do they even fear losing out? As you know, the ways of the world are constantly changing and what may seemed 'the thing' for the moment may be only 'the thing' in the past in a span of a short period. That's why the concept of clever people is that they must also strive to improve and stay ahead in the game.

But what happens sometimes is that you find people working extremely hard and doing those extra credits stuff to an extent that it is seen as kiasuism. And as everyone is famaliar with the term, I would not elaborate. This is a result of insecurity. Why would you work so hard? Why must you push yourself into doing so much extra credit that your EQ level drops to rock-bottom? The reason is that they feel insecure. Insecure that they may lose out and be among the average or slums of singapore.

There are also different extents of this feeling of 'losing out'. They may be from peer pressure (seeing all your friends getting higher marks than you is not a good feeling. Admit it!) and you might just want to brush up a little to be on par with them. There are also extents caused by peer pressure that make a so afraid of losing out that he studies for a test 2 weeks away and does the homework on the day it was assigned. That is kiasuism. Lastly, there is also the highest extent which is harming the people around you for your own individual benefit. There are instances, for example, copying a person's idea or worse, threatening or bribe-ing the person to do badly in a subject just so you may be better, overall. It's either those people have no conscious or are deluded by the need of staying ahead.

As for how to stop yourself from taking such a drastic step, you could first, think about all the good things you find you have and believe that you are really good in it. (This self-manipulating method may not work always) Another step is not to compare your marks with others (I find this extremely hard to do) and also believe that accomplishing that particular exam is an achievement. (I love self-manipulating methods)

That's all I have to say about losing out. Sorry for wasting your time and energy on this. Thank You!

The slowing down of the roller coaster ride....

my printing! my magnum opus!

The plate of fried noodles mz and me made.....

"It was hell. The whole place was burning and the smell of sulphur lingered in the room. Figures were everwhere. Algebraic signs were shooting all over the place. It was my guilty conscious. Just then, a bug flew onto my neck and bit, its fangs cutting deep into my blood vessels. Draining the blood that would be the punishment of the betrayal of a loyal friend. Maths." -jinhu's nightmares.

It's pretty interesting isn't it.......that's probably why I'm feeling so tired now. That bug really woke me up and I wasn't able to sleep after it. Anyway, that was just a demo of my english writing skills. Must always constantly improve!

Yesterday: Did not study for english and home econs (does those two subjects need studying?) Had home econs for the first two hours before recess......well, this time it wasn't as bad as the pizza toast incident ; we ran out of chillies and got marks detected from our fried noodles because of not enough colour. Haix....there goes one mark down the drain. Nvm, at least got improve! The test was difficult beacuse I didn't study for it.....still hoping that I can scrape an A1! Got back science results......best in class only 26/30.....that's very low compared to other classes. But oh well, my results aren't that bad, 24/30. Still the A1 I wanted. English comprehension wasn't difficult and I found out that I can only lose 5 marks if I still want my A1 for english! Have to work hard! CME was rubbish. What a complete waste of time! Could have gone through geography paper and need not stay back after school with 1/4 to do so. Anyway, got 27/35 for geography! Just nice A1!!! And it's still above average! Helped wei xin and wing yiu think of an idea for their ipw project, seeing that they still haven't completed. Thought of a wheel-rotate pencil box. Hope it works!

Today: It was overall a lazy day. Found out that I got 29/30 for my music test......still got standard! Also watched a musical on inventions......had maths lesson after recess and it was completely boring. Chose my best piece of printing for my art....I hope you like it.....supposed to have geog today but ms wang didn't came (the reason why she gave us the paper yeaterday) and I completed the exercise. Oh well.....had choir later and went to play monkey and vball before going home.....

Fail...Excel....Fail

My name on a pathethic tile holder.
Mrs Kumar and Mr Sim.....F&N + Design and Technology
Johanna's beautiful 'mural' of our class and it's inhabitants.
The famous golden tiger of 1/2 0'7!!!

It's been a roller coaster ride these few days, emotionally and 'exam'ly......up and down, then the occasional nausea.....argh.......I really need to brush up.

That's what happened, I got back my history results on monday.....and I'm no longer top! That's good and bad at the same time, good: no more stress to be top and able to lower teacher's expectations. bad: well, isn't getting a lower score bad for your grades? I got 30.5/33.....and the top is 31/33. Ms lim said that she was disappointed and I think she is now looking for greener pastures : jerome and daryn. I'm happy.....that's for monday anyway.....

Tuesday was a BLACK tuesday......I failed HMT paper 2!!! So badly.....I'd nearly broke down in shock and terror. It's like hell in an air-conditioned inspire town....17.5/50.....what do you think my chances of passing are? 0 to 100......and to add irony to it all....that was the same mark I got for my CA1 Paper 2......when will this torture ever end....anyway, I also got back the results for free writing and functional writing....not bad....in fact, pretty good....24/30and 23/30 respectively. What do you think? Also managed to finish art today! Mdm Lidia said that I can pass so I shall not worry about art anymore....it's not my strengths.....I still prefer engish and all humanities. Found out that while I was busy doing art in the art room, the girls (they know who they were) were gossiping in the classroom and the whiteboard was filled with the 1/2 mural! It was nice.....hope you like those pics!
Today wasn't better. The first two periods before recess were complete hell. Ms Tan had completed marking the Chinese History Paper done on monday and was returning the scores to us.....at least I passed the paper but failed the Chinese History portion!!! It's not fair.....I really did study for it. Lucky still have those summary quetions to save me! Maths was even more heart-rending. I failed my maths test!!! It's pathethic......I don't even have the guts to look at myself in the mirror for I know a hideuos figure will look back at me when I do that.......only 6 people in class passed.....oh well.....I won't cry anymore over spilt milk......what's done is done......and as for english, Mrs Yeo announced the UNSW results for the Writing competition. Audrey get credit while me and sarah get distinction! DISTINCTION!!! I'm so hyper after the announcement that I had to hang out with wei xin & co. after school.....
That's about it....I really wonder what surprises tomorrow holds......

Ikea and MacRitchie Tree Top Walk

The top of Jelutong Tower
Endless trail 1 : Muddy Paths
Rain in Reservoir
Golfing Greens and its recreated pool
Simply Mediterenean!

Endless trail 2 : Boardwalk
Endless trail 3 : Rocky Paths

Terap Hut ; we never got time to rest there
Endless trail 4 : Stairs and more stairs

MacRitchie Reservoir : Peaceful and Calm
JC students canoeing on a fine saturday morning
Preperation for the bbq!
Happy Birthday Alicia!
The 35cents mug I bought from Ikea.

The 4 days holiday really was pretty eventful.....at least friday and saturday was......not to mention alicia's party!
Tuesday: Went to buy alicia's birthday gift in sun plaza. It was her who chose it and we even went to her house before heading straight to alicia's house. Not my decision. Had a great time there anyway. Who won't? Spending 4 hours in front of the PS2 is just heavenly! All was well until we had to fix the bbq stand. I wasn't of much help. I think she and winnie did more but I dun care. Also had my very first bbq-ed stingray. It's quite nice, other than being too spicy! Left her house at 9.45 just after the cake was cut. It was oreo cake. My favourite!

Friday: Went to Ikea Tampines for lunch! I love Ikea's food! Especially the chicken wings! Had fish and chips + chicken wings washed down with Ice Lemon Tea. Yum! Visited Giant for groceries. Also the first time I went to choose longans! At first dunno how then later decoded that the way to choose longans were by testing them on their 'hollowness'. Spent a total of $30+ there. Giant Tampines was also having its closing down sale! Bought a wallet at $9.70 which originally costs $27.90! Good deals......

Saturday: Woke up at 7.30 to get ready for the arranged MacRitchie walk. Didn't eat much for breakfast....just two slices of bread. Set off by taking the MRT to novena and later catching a bus there. Started the walk at 10am. Explored all sorts of trails : Prunus trail and the Petaling trail but the best was still the HSBC Tree Top Walk! No pics here since I have no desire to drop my handphone from a 250m suspension walkway, 25m above the trees. There were trees all around us. It's a wonderful experience walking through the walkway. Maybe we could have it as a class outing venue. It wasn't much fun after the walk. Nobody looks forward to walking a 5km distance back to civilisation. We made it in the end. It was exhausting yet rewarding. Walked a total of 10km++. It's still a miracle my legs didn't ache!
That's the reason my mother confined me at home anyway, to study. I will, but that will be after I finish blogging!
PS: Alicia's going to kill me for posting this photo

tests and tests and fail!

The 'golden' ice-lemon tea drink we made!
ryan pouring the tea into a cup
the toast which got us 7/10!!!
the science project.....nice?
The new S'pore $20 note (for those who haven't seen it)

So after a long long break, I'm finally back to blogging! Hip-hip-hooray! First we'll talk about the terrible thursday followed by the freky friday!

Thursday : had 2hours of home-econs lesson after flag-raising. It went on quite well......until the fact came in that we actually chose the wrong toast to present to Mrs kumar!!! Could have gotten 9! but I shall not cry over spilled milk.....will hope that mz's culinary skills will improve! Also presented our science project to the class (included in CA2) and I think our group didn't come out quite well off......

Friday : Forgotten about what happened liao.....just knew that something terrible happened in choir. Our best conductor left us! All thanks to our loust management fo attendance (hardly half the choir reported and that NAPFA had to be on both days on the choir).......so I think we can kiss our gold with honours goodbye....*sobs*.....but the choir will strive (I hope) and hopefully manage to call Ms lim back to conduct us......nobody should have taken her for granted......

Weekends : Got a new memory card.....my uncle gave it to me! Though it's only 128MB, I'll stiill treasure it! Did little revision for Chinese test on monday......

Monday : Had HMT paper 2 CA2 and it was DAMN difficult......I'll be so glad if I can even pass.....Also have NDP practice in the hall. It was pathethic. It ended at 6.40p.m. A total waste of time.

Today : Had 2exams in a row. First came science then later maths. Science was quite ok lah......messed up a few questions but shouldn't cost much lah......and maths was EXTREMELY difficult!!! Angles and percentage!!! Arrrggh!!!! I never want to take another maths exam again!. Was still NOT chosen for oral....why can't Mrs Yeo dig out her eyes and see the patheehic student sitting in front of her, begging her to call out register number 29!!! It's not difficult isn't it? Anyway, had to stayback after school (Mrs Yeo) and be informed that she copied my idea!!!! Not only the idea but also the phrases! What a cheat! I gave Mrs Yeo a clear and brief explanation while leaving her to clear up the mess she made. I hate people who steal othe peoples' ideas. Just because their's it's good and you have no ideas, let alone a good one, doesn't permit you to be a complete sucker and copy down the person's ideas if it was your own!!!! It has copyright! It's the person's original idea! Respect and get lost!
Finished up with CE, had a quick lunch and went to the final NDP rehearsel. It wasn't so bad. At least they had a new breakdancer which have all the twists and bends!!! They rock! Sorry adelynn for tearing her phone cover....didn't mean to......went home and relax.....

PS: fyi I hate suckers, leechers, hypocrites, wannabes and despos!

Stoy-telling...again....

That's lunch! Chicken rice and a packet drink
My storytelling station! Just hate the small uncomfortable little stool!

Haix....came home today with sore throat and aching legs, no thanks to the stool and the fact that I have to say the story 7-9 times. Today's really pretty normal, with the exception of the story-telling session.
So I come to school, attended chinese and maths which bore me out completely cause by the time recess started, I was tired. That's why they should never have subjects such as chinese and maths consecutively before recess, it ruins the our day. At least recess was interesting.....I ran errands in the canteen to buy nuggets for the people who refused to come down. See how kind-hearted I am! So it was a really 'pai-seh' when I made my order. 16 nuggets and a plate of nasi lemak. The order drained almost every nugget on the platter, leaving two miserable nuggets behind. Then the horror came in. "boy ah....I cannot give you plastic bag....dm say one....are sticks ok?" I naturally gave one mf my most discerning smiles and left politely with the three sticks of nuggets, each heavily ladden, on my plate. Almost every pair of eyes were staring at me when I made my way across the canteen. I just picked a corner and eat...still pretty aware of the eyes staring at me. Finally, when the nuggets were delivered, I heaved a sigh and vowed never to buy 16 nuggets by sticks again.
The rest of the time in school was pretty uninteresting. Except for putting up some make-up and skipping EFL again, there's almost nth to write abt.
It was pretty boring at the start. All the speeches and the thank-yous....you can imagine. What was best was when Hossan Leong entertained us!!! He's so damn hilarious! hahahaaha! All the wonderful jokes and equally fantastic rap on the history of singapore, in a most singaporean fashion! It rocks! Then, we went back to our respective stations and told our stories to the kids who came to our booth. Still happy to know that I have charm! I had given away all my badges! (everone has the same no. of badges to give out to their own audience) By time I finished reading already sore throat and legs. Haix....all for my giving soul. And now all for my taking soul! After refreshements (which was a very short period of time), we assembled at the hall and wait to receive out 'certifcates of appreciation'. Was the first few to collect since Anderson starts with 'A'! It was rather plain but no matter......I dun care.......
