BOX-ing Day 2007

The GLOWing snowman
Small and steady wins the game (this chrismas tree isn't big)
The flashing snowball!!!

...and that's roughly how the house was decorated during our christmas party, with the exception of balloons because I always thought that parties have balloons but it's still the best party to date. And the thing was that I stayed home the whole day and did not go out during christmas day. It seems like a sin itself. And we are the hosts for the christmas party since it's actually being held at our house! There's lots of food, games and most importantly, presents!!! And I helped prepare a dish for the party, my 'signature' spaghetti! Yeah, and my mum helped to prepare some of the ingredients like the tomato puree which if I had the choice, would use the equally signature Prego sauce from NTUC. Yes, and Prego sauce is nice but we will need like 3 jars to feed that many people....

...and it passed! They actually said that it looked good and the sauce is nice! But it wasn't fresh from the pot and was a little cold and hard and they took marks off for that. But it's ok. And the turkey was big, so was the honey baked ham and the 6L of Cappucino ice-cream. And there really were leftovers in the end. Such as the 4.5L remaining ice-cream and the half turkey now resting in the fridge, after being tormented so badly by knives and ice-cream scoops. And I think we can have that for lunch today, along with half the spaghetti that was left behind.

The games were fun! Organised by one of my uncles, there was treasure hunt where we scrambled up and down the stairs for the most common household items, such as pillows and toothbrushes. Next, there was passing he parcel, where the letter contained in the parcel would either mean a penalty or a present. Last but not least, there was the best-wrapped present contest. And the handbagged present won!(no pics to show) Imagine how it looked like. It really was creative.

And not forgetting the presents! Being a big boy now, compared to all my sisters and other cousins, I got like 2 mind games,1 Reebok T-shirt, 1 H.G wells book and 1 squash racket, which I asked for. This year was a good yield. And I love all the prezzies and greeting I got. Just so sorry that I didn't return your greetings, so I would do it right now!

I think I've got another aunty characteristic...

...and that is much attributed to the fact that I'm always the one picking all the fruits on discount. For instance, I was the among the crowd of aunties, grannies and the ah peks when picking 17 cents/100g tangerines in Giant just yesterday. And yes, I was at least 20 years younger than the second youngest person in the very crowded bunch of people. I had to jostle in. And that shows how good the deal is, how many people want is (as singaporeans are known to be kiasu) and how I like good deals. That's not being aunty, or is it?

And yeah, wnet to ikea for lunch yesterday and it was superb! You really should try their swedish herb chicken leg! It's just OUT OF THE WORLD! On top of that, you should also try the expensive vanilla ice-cream which is really international standard. Not all that singaporean! And after that really yummy lunch, went to the nearby Giant to buy groceries. And yes, we bought like 20 apples and oranges and 1.5kg of tangerines. You really should make a trip to that Tampines industrial park someday of you can afford to.

Drove back home in uncle's car to go aunt's condo to play squash. But as the squash court was currently undergoing painting, we went to our house instead for the winter solstice early celebration. Then another uncle brought us a very unstable tv-video game which had the most old-fashioned of games. No XBOX or PSP. Yeah, and I'm not as appreciative to those products as some of you are. Dinner was equally great. There was roast duck!!! And I'm a roast duck fanatic if you didn't know.

Went out to town today and had roast duck noodles at the Noodles PLace Restaurant in Centerpoint. Later walked to Plaza Singapura and bought again, more groceries in Carrefour. Returned home and read one of my harry potter books to keep myself occupied.

I really want to go back to school.

I'm counting down to next year...

...and the reason is because my brain's rotting. And I hate it that way cause alot of effort must be mmade to maintain it. And yeah....it may sound wierd but....I wanna do homework! any type, it's really ok with me. I even feel like paying someone so that I can do their homework sometimes....and it really is when I have nothing to do. When I complain so much, I feel that I'm becoming a wet blanket as well as an aunty. But I still have to remember, and strive not to be so aunty anymore. (cos aunties complain and bargain alot and I'll do that when I'm not so happy).

Today's badminton game was kinda fun I suppose. Only 8 people turned up and I suppose it's just nice since we only booked 2 courts. Smack! I can still hear the echos of today's 'fun' game. (the definition of fun is?)Went to kfc after the game with wei le, janelle, audrey and jesslynn. Was really hungry even though I had ate a little lunch before going for the game. Sports always leave me feeling empty. (pun not intended) And after the meal, I went strolling around J8 with wei le tagging. Ended up in popular where I suddenly and strangely got hooked to pokemon books and I kept reading them and ignore poor wei le. I must have been such a nasty person. Naughty jinhu for not being such a good friend! Went home and helped decorate the house with snowflakes and baubles for the christmas spirit.

Ohhs I have not been online and blog for so long because a)I am playing the ancient pokemon red game on a gameboy advance b)catching all the cable cantonese drama c) not at home as I'm out, in jb or malls d)immersed in a very nice book! So there you have it! Every day is a question of why I didn't really seem to be online and why my blog is always so obselate. The answer could be either of those four options on how I'm spending my dreary existence during the holidays.

Mummies!

The title of the current exhibition in science center : Mummies!
I think this looks like the face of a sphinx
Anubis, the god of mummies ; the one with that coyote mask...

I must say the science centre trip I made with my family yesterday was pretty interesting. The mummies part that is. And the exhibition was really great, there were many replicas on those ancient egybt stuff, like that anubis mask. Ahhs, if only it was on sale. Lunched at macs and as usual, it was over-ordered again. The mummies IMAX show was really nice! As in good graphics, good facts and good mysteries. Looks like I didn't make a wasted trip afterall. And I even bought presents in the shop for my sisters, since it was actually her who requested for it and it was really cheap...I'm no cheapskate!

Dad fetched us to giant and we bought like so many things again cause that Is what happens whenever dad accompanies us on shopping for grocery. Slept on the back of the lorry. For people who can't do without air-con, that's no place for you.

halfway in the holidays

Ohhs and before I forget, Very much belated birthday to wingyiu and ming zhen! I just realised how much more forgetful I am.

Didn't do much today. Played squash in the morning and watched rob-b-hood and constructed a model of a double ferris wheel during the afternoon with a little help from my sis. (cos all they did was to easily build the wheels and later ruin it for me to repair) That's my eventful saturday. I think I would forget all about it soon. And what I did today would remains a mystery no one cares about. And I'm surprised that people still visit my blog despite it being in coma for more than two weeks. And many many thanks to those people that still bother to come. (I'm no longer talking to that empty abyss) And there's our 6A'06 gathering tomorrow somewhere which I'm not sure exactly where but I still know where to meet. Hope it'll be great. And as for potluck there's no way anything can be cooked from my non-halal kitchen so the only way is to buy. And I'm still wondering what to buy for the 'dinner' tomorrow. Still wondering and guessing.

And I should give up reiki for aikido instead. They both originate in japan and at least I would be able to have someone to teache me if I'm really learning. That's much better than reading a dead book and going through an equally dead cd which comes with it. And it's way not cheap ; 12 lessons for $120. It's going to rupture a big fat hole in my savings and I would have to compromise on the squash racket I want to buy. Ohhs, all the agony and fustration caused by money and lack of it. The whole burden if it all. Wouldn't it be nice if money really didn't exist....(all the rich people would hate me)

Who's going to the gathering anyway? I have no wish to be the only one who turns up in a gathering meant for 38 other people. (But I'm pretty sure that at least 10 would turn up)

And I also found out that all the'nice' blog addresses usually are 'wastrel' blogs, of you get what I mean....such as _______.blogspot.com. Just type in a pretty simple one and I would think that chances are that blog had already gone to waste. And that's just my simple theory.
