Against time

Another whirlwind of a week just passed by. Time doesn't flies, it dashes. And I'd just came us with an appropriate title for this week lols. Against time. For it's really time that I was dealing with. Not in a good way either.

Yeah, first example, geography group work. Unknowingly, I had become a part of janelle's geog team which included ryan, jesslynn, wenjie, yijun, audrey, siewkhoon and me. Yeah, and bloody one minute is just too short to write a proper answer. Just full of scribblings. Didn't win this time, but I'm sure dumb whistle has potential lols.

Yeah, and today wasn't a great day. To start with, I didn't bring my pe attire and had to watch the rest of the class play captain's ball while I stoned there into space. And it was more than half an hour long. I vow never to forget to bring me pe again. Cos it would mean another missed chance with captain's ball. Second example of against time is during chinese lesson. We had to write a compo in 45 minutes, seeing that time was wasted between pe and chinese. Was kinda slacking since I had nothing to write. But for the last 15 minutes, it was mad rush lols. I was still in the middle of the compo. The middle of nowhere. And I had depleted almost any idea I had in the first place. No thanks to the fact that my chinese vocab was so limited. But I kinda managed scrape through everything. I heard that desperation can make people do such things. Hope that my desperation was used in the right way. As for limited vocab, I mistook ke4wai4huo2dong4 for after school activities like additional malay instead of cca. Praying that both of them really have the same meaning.

Mr Poh didn't come so a new Mr Eu took over. Was sprung a surprise test which was meant to test our understanding of a chapter before learning it. Fortunate that I had read up on world war 2 on some old forgotten book but it was quite long ago. Should have misunderstood most of the facts. Music was a trip down beethoven's memory lane. His entire life of being the deaf music genius, as ms lau would have loved to describe him as. Lunched with winnie and alicia. that great time had to be ruined when junsiang reminded me that there was a survey to be done. And we sort of rushed back.

Choir was terrible and tenor contributed to the fact in a bad way. In a way of not being able ot reach the high notes and had to whisper them in falsetto. That's what I did. Straining the voice is an unpleasant experience. ms lim walked out of us in the end, saying that she would not conduct the concert which was only 2 weeks away. I had to agree with her lols. I think I(we) are bad. Should really put more concentration and not let down those who bought the concert tickets. We'll show you what anderson choir is.

I'm not sure if my hanyu pinyin is even right...

Surprise?

It's been so long since I last blogged. So much for so long anyway. This week is pretty interesting lols. I shall explain.

There was nothing much on monday lols. Choir isn't much fun since we had to be so elaborated for practice cause.

Got a mini surprise on tues thanks to geog. I got 9/10 for a test I didn't study. Maybe that's a reason for not studying so much...good one? Art was on doing self-portait. I can't think of any symbols and am glad enough to be reminded by those around me how much I suck in art. which is alot. It was also the last time that dr lim would be teaching us for the science specialist course. And we toyed with a $300 fuel cell kit. No failures this time round. Rather fun but I still hate the fact that each session costs $20. How much can one afford to go for it everyday. Maybe if you're jared.

Had health check-up today. Damn sian waiting outside and forgot to bring pe. But it's ok since it didn't affect much anyway. The eyesight test was interestinig. When I continued reading oto the second last row, the nurse was calling me to stop but starngely, I can't. As if I lost control of myself. Yeah, and it's perfect eyesight again...jealous anyone? First time the guys had to do spine check. And I have one of the most bent spines in class cause almost everyone like negative. This just shows what bad posture I have. There were also giggles when the other boys go in. Yeah, and it was dirty. But it was ok. It was totally sick. Won in the chinese idiom mini competition we had. Will be claiming the prize the next day.

And what about totally sick did I not understand? How did a class of immature boys turned into underaged guys overnight. I simply can't understand. From blunt erasers to mini submarines? From barren to forest? What am I saying? The nurses must have copied the results for everyone in class. lols. Chinese lesson was another reminder on how weak my chinese is. Though I got the tolberone I duly deserved, I struggled like shit and still died when we study chinese literature. It's so pathethic can? Yeah, I can't have two contrasting points. They need to be equal. And in a good way.

I need something to brainwash myself off all there dirty thoughts.

Reading Club : that new cca

Yeah, it's going to sound strange but it looks like the reading club in anderson is going to be formed, if all goes well. And me and courtney are like the pioneers of it, with mr poh being the teacher-in-charge. This is becoming so way fraking weird and I shall start on something I'd just bought.

Evanescence is the best band in the world. It's not an opinion but an official statement. Naive me just found out after checking out their 5 year-old album fallen in cd rama. It was love at first sight and I bought it immediately. It rocks so much that I felt the $17 I paid was just for the casing. It should really cost like 10 times more. But luckily it didn't otherwise I'd have to save for an eternity. Gosh, there isn't any other album in the world that would give you this heavenly sensation! Imaginary, hello, everybody's fool and My Immortal's a paradise in it's own right. Like floaty dreamy heaven.

Today's maths remedial was kinda difficult. At least the last part anyway. And I found out that my maths understanding of concepts and formula is rolling downhill. Gotta save it but no time cause even after dragging, I could only leave at 1.10. I thought it was still ok. I thought we still had time. I was wrong. And the weather defied me too. By having a downpour when it knew me and courtney didn't bring an umbrella. So two anderson representatives had to run in the rain and pant like a wolf just because we had to attend a certain workshop in central library. The instructions which we were given by the schools were also pathethic. WE just had to count on ourselves. I didn't even have time to eat the double cheeseburger I bought in macs.

So we were late, by a few minutes. Hungry. Exhausted. Irritated. Courtney had to choose the seat that was right in front of the instructor so that we can't even nibble the burgers in peace. It was a READ! workshop by the way, that was aimed to train reading facillatators. The entire READ! campaigh was to increase public awareness and participation in reading. The good thing about the lecture was that the understanding trainer simply told us to have out refreshments before the lecture and I was damn grateful.

I could practically inhale the refreshements. The fried chicken was crispy and succelent. The xiaolong baos were juicy and steaming. The eclairs were cold with chocolate cream and icing. And the samosa was ordinary. Everyone was civilised though. We got in an orderly manner and waited. So I mucnched away a buns of xiaolong baos, 3 pieces of chicken, 2 pieces of eclair and just 1 edge of samosa. By the way, the room was on the highest floor in the entire library and the scenery wonderful. Maybe it would have lost to Singapore Flyer in terms of scenery, but never in value. Ate good food, breathed good air, listened to good music, see good buildings, touch good materials. The maximum pleasure of the 5 senses. Ultimanium.

The lecture was not boring and rather enriching. We later had to get into groups and have a book discussion. Didn't discuss anything in detail anyway. Ate my frozen cheeseburger while waiting for the photos to develop on time. The prospect of having a reading club dawned on me and courtney, so after suggesting it to mr poh, who expressed interest, we might actually have a real one in anderson. Like, lahhs....

Am totally exhausted while typing this post.

Cross Country 2008

Say cheese!

Yesterday was fun. Well, at least during the later part of the day. And the sun was glaring over the entire sentosa yesterday. Literally, this burns.

Arrived early on my dad's lorry. Gave ryan a lift too. And it was damn weird cos we seem like the only andersonians in the entire sentosa. But I might as well have not seen one anyway cause the moment I turn back, nicholas's revolting face shone back. Like yuck. It stole part of my stamina. Thankfully, jun siang's face was seen shortly after. And three of us make our way to the tent.

Sec1s can be pesky. Yeah, especially seeing your most hated junior trying to bootlick right at your clean clean sportshoes. Another revolting sight. Waited dumbly at the white tent for more people to come.

The sec2 boys and the staff were the ones heading the race. And then again, I was slacking behind lol. And so many people overtook me. The perfect moment had to come when my shoelaces had to untie themselves and need me to tie them back. I knew at that exact moment that there's no chance to be top 20. The race was just too short.

Yeah, so I wasn't. But ryan and jerome weren't either, though they were much ahead of me. Only weile got into top 20 as 20. Feat ehhs? Not bothered anyway. Sand is a bother anyway. It got into my shoes, bag and even my wallet. Then there are some inconsiderate-ultimanium people who kick sand all over the place in a small stuffy tent. Then those people who pat their butts and start sand would shower all over the place. Into eyes, shoes and bags. Then satisfied, they would land their butts on the sand and start squeezing maximillius for their own personal comfort and pleasure without giving a damn to people who are already struggling just to put their bags on the floor. Times of crowd bring out the worst in people.

Chicken rice was pathethic. We lost in tug of war cause our people are so small-sized. 2/2 is a small people class. We lost in bossaball. Quite thanks to me we lost like 7-15. I lost about 3 goals I think. Yeah, I'm such a loser in volleyball that I have to suck at bossaball as well. And the inflated balloon was scorching. I loved the sand lol. It was like walking on charcoals. Ony sarah complained like shit when we lost lol. And she put all the blame on me. Yeah, I helped to lose but then again, I have my own priciples and she could just keep complaining for all I care. We played captain's ball quite well and managed to enter the 'finals'. Even thogh we lost, we played a gallant game. Not sore losers. But not bootlickers either. Not like how 2/5 cheered for all the other classes when they won for the sport. Like please, isn't there a silent law says you should just congratulate instead of bootlicking when other classes win? And glenn, silence is golden.

Anderson probably didn't anticipate this ; the crowd of 1400 students rushing to go home. Some people walked, some took the school bus to vivo and some even hailed a taxi. ryan, me, siewmun, yijun and siewkhoon decided to take the 2nd bus when the first bus left. And weile decided to walk all the way to vivo. So as long with all the other andersonains. Sad but true. And we spot many people walking and were waving to them ; I think we're all sadists.

Joined janelle and the rest at vivo, toured a while before making our way to the ground floor fountain. Washed my face and fringe in one of the toilets. And my entire face was sunburnt. So were my hands and the arms. Replicating a burnt tomamto. Slacked and joked a while at the fountain until some people decided to go home such that only 10 people were left in the end. Me, ryan, zhihao, weile, jerome, janelle, yijun, audrey and siewmun were left. Ate dinner at ljs, with the dinner being at the vivo kid's playground. Lots of intereting stuff to chat about and it was an entirely enjoyable time, crapping, playing and laughing. Went to the arcade later. Apparently, we can't enter the arcade in our school shorts but some brought home clothes some did not. And for those who didn't bring shorts had to safety pin them. Like lols. But the mean aunty at the counter still won't exchange the coins for us. And we called someone else to do it. And we played. And we had a little fun at the arcade.

Giant. Next stop. Went to buy ice-cream and snacks. Hit the budget at $13.33. Nice number. Ice-cream was blackforest. It was indulgence. Ice-cream always tastes nice when you have people to share it with. Played a very interesting game at Giant. Competed with each other to pick the most expensive stuff. The guys lost. But it was only a game. Happened to pass by candy empire. And jerome was uber kind. He treated us to jellybeans at that place. So our 'orange-tee' gang gathered at a small corner and started munching on jellybeans.

Going home was parting lols. Took a group photo, with me being the photographer. :D Nice? Promised to go again next time. And as for those making their way home on the NS line, we made many 6 line stories. Damn fun. In the end only left me and ryan. Went home crapping like shit.

Do the teachers enjoy marking so much? Maybe that's the reason why we have holiday homework.

Burn Wheel of Taboo!

Please burn. You are the bane of the game. You are hated by our entire class so please, annihalate yourself or let us burn you. I'm not refering to nicholas It is you. This terrible wheel which sealed our fate before the game. Because of you we sulk. Because of you we lost. Be gone!

I bloody hate that wheel. And seeing it makes me mad.

The weekends are boring. Nothing much happened except that I learned how to do cpr on a dummy.

That's the last dt lesson on monday. Good ridance, for now. I still can't get over the fact that my merlion looks more like a rhino. Probably going to pass, adequately after I finished. That's good enough too! Being damn impatient, I went to ask mr poh about my history marks after choir. And I knew I what I wanted to know.

The library was closed so we stayed in class during reading period, which I use for the maths remedial worksheet. Mr khairul was pissed off because of that. Had a new goeg teacher called mr fadzly. And he's huge and it all would be ok if not for his blasphemous rules that nobody would follow, even if they have to kena dc. Had music and it was about garageband. Not interesting. There was science enrichment after class. We did on hydrogen this time and the success rate for our experiments were so high compared with last week. ._.

Ran three rounds around the school and played captain's ball after that today. We were so brutally thrashed by 5/2 in the first round and we only tied with their second batch. From my captain's position, there were many people in our team who were either blocked or too close to each other. There is also someone whom I think shouldn't be in the team at all or else the entire game would be ruined. Once, the person got out, I'm sure that we will improve by loads.Spent the entire recess practising captain.

Had fun with electroplating today. The experiment was rather successful and it wasn't haywire until ryan touched a wire or two. Yeah, thanks to ryan. Today's english lesson was probably the best in term 1. Got back our report cards and got to play in a nice quiz. I think my results are pretty good and I got 2nd in 2/2 for the first time. The number's so nice : 222. Here are the grades.

English: 77

Chinese: 54

Maths: 59

Science: 79

Geography: 90

History: 92

Literature: 70

D&T: 67

Visual Arts: 69

Comments:
There are 3 subjects which I got with a 4/9 at the back. Didn't fail any subject ( must keep up this streak!) Rotten in higher chinese and maths. best in level for english. top 3 in level for history And am 3rd for the last for hisgher chinese. But still, very impressed!

There were mixed feelings in efl. When I saw that wheel, I fumed and even ranted that I can't be on stage playing the finals. The briefing on cross-country and water safety was rather interesting. Daryn kept bombarding me with his suanning. 2/2 wasn't the last express sec 2 class to leave the hall.

Yes, aunty pang?
